Having just come off my first ascent of the Baldy Bowl, I wanted to do another mountain on my way out of town to continue my Mountaineering Vacation and on my way to Rock Creek for my 4 day Winter Mountaineering Course. I was originally planning on doing something in the South Sierra, but the descent from Baldy took a lot longer than I had anticipated, so I needed something shorter, and possibly closer before I lost daylight. I knew that in the area around Mount Baldy there were some small mountains for me to climb, so I chose Circle Mountain for this quick little jaunt.
On the side of the road I stripped down out of my winter kit and into my 3-season kit, and left everything in my car except my trekking poles. My goal was to do this peak as quickly as possible, so I bolted to the summit, snapped a photo there (which had a Witness Post), and then came flying down the mountain. The trail is easy to follow and isn’t much to write home about.
(Note: There are no photos from this adventure as I forgot to save them before I lost my phone.)
